What this audio reverser does
Reverse audio means the file plays from the last sample to the first. Speech runs last syllable first. A cymbal decay becomes a swell. Pitch does not change. The editor above runs in the browser: it does not host your file, it does not fetch YouTube, and it does not identify songs.
Use it to reverse a voice memo, a song you already have as a file, or a short sound effect. Format and phone walkthroughs are listed under tools.
How to reverse audio
- 1 Tap Record and allow the microphone, or choose an MP3, WAV, FLAC, OGG, M4A, or AAC file.
- 2 Wait until processing finishes. The work stays on the device.
- 3 Press Play reversed. Switch to Use original if you need the forward take.
- 4 Optional: audition at 0.5x–2x. Speed is preview only.
- 5 Download the reversed WAV.
Recording stops at 60 seconds. For a podcast or a full song, upload the file. If a mobile browser runs out of memory, split the file or use a desktop.
Privacy
There is no account. The audio buffer lives in the tab. A download writes a WAV to your device. Analytics and ads scripts load like any other page; they do not receive the audio samples. Details are in the privacy policy.

How do I reverse audio on this site?

Does it work on a phone?
Yes. Record in the browser on iPhone or Android, or choose a file from Files / Downloads. Large files can fail on low-memory phones; split them or use a computer.

Do you upload my audio?
No. Decoding and reversal run in the tab with the Web Audio API. Close the tab and the buffer is gone unless you downloaded the WAV.
What is the recording limit?
Sixty seconds per take. Longer speech or music should be uploaded as a file.
What format is the download?
WAV. Preview speed buttons do not change the downloaded file.
Can I paste a YouTube link?

Does reversing identify a song?
No. If a clip is already backwards, reverse it here first, then use a song ID app. See reverse audio search.
How do I get the original direction back?
Tap Use original to hear the forward take, or upload the reversed WAV and reverse it again. Edge fades mean a round trip is not bit-identical.
Is reverse audio the same as phase invert?
No. Reverse plays the file from the last sample to the first. Phase or polarity invert multiplies samples by −1 and does not change time. This tool only reverses time. See phase invert audio online.
