Reverse singing website
Practice reverse singing in the browser. Record or upload a vocal, play it backwards, download WAV. Not a karaoke catalog or backing-track app.

Reverse singing is a practice method, a studio trick, and a party stunt. This page is a reverse singing website only in the sense that you can reverse a sung take in the browser. It is not Karaoke-Version, not a lyric site, and not a product that scores your pitch against a reference.
The editor time-reverses whatever you upload or record. You hear the last note first. Vowels smear into swells. Consonants land at the “wrong” edge of the syllable. That is the material you train on.
What reverse singing is for
Studio: singers record a line, reverse it, learn to sing that backwards tape, record the backwards performance, then reverse again so the release plays forward with odd attacks. The Beatles-era stories are about that chain, not about a website. You can approximate the chain with this tab plus a second pass.
Practice: ear-training teachers flip a short melody so students cannot rely on muscle memory of the original contour. You still need to match pitch; the contour is just unfamiliar.
Comedy: a cappella groups reverse a hook and ask the room to name the song. That is closer to the reverse singing game page. This page is the practice bench, not the scoreboard.
What this is not: a generator that invents a backwards melody from a title you type. If you wanted generated audio from text, that would be TTS plus reverse, which this site does not do. See reverse speech generator for the same warning on speech.
A practice loop that actually works
- Sing a phrase you know, dry, into a phone or into the Record button (max 60 seconds). Upload if the file is already in Voice Memos or a DAW bounce.
- Reverse here. Listen at 1×, then use slower preview if the line is dense. Preview speed is not saved in the WAV.
- Hum along with the reversed file until the contour is in your throat. Ignore lyrics; treat it as vowels.
- Record yourself singing that reversed contour (second file).
- Reverse the second file. You should hear a forward melody with unnatural consonants. That is the point.
- Compare to the original take using Normal mode on the first file.
Two reverses restore order on a single file, with edge fades; unreverse audio. The performance reverse (you singing the backwards tape) is not a bit-perfect restoration of the first take. It is a new recording.
Room reverb reverses into pre-echo and makes pitching harder. Practice in a dry room if you care about the second generation.
Microphone and file notes
The Record control asks for permission, then captures up to a minute. For monitoring (hearing yourself while singing), use headphones so the mic does not loop the reversed playback. Details on permission and mics: reverse audio microphone.
Uploads: MP3, WAV, FLAC, OGG, M4A, AAC. A choir rehearsal MP3 is enough to study contour. A WAV or FLAC bounce is better if you will publish the reversed vocal. Download is always WAV. Local decode: the take does not go to a vocal-coaching cloud.
If you only have a mixed song with drums, the drums reverse too. Isolate the vocal in a DAW if you need a cappella practice. This page has no stem splitter.
Melody versus lyrics
Reversed English lyrics are not a new language you can “learn” as words. You are hearing phonemes in reverse order. Teaching yourself to pronounce reversed phonemes is a specialist skill; most people should sing on vowels and let consonants fall where they fall.
Pitch: reverse does not transpose. A phrase in A minor is still A minor, played backwards. If you are using this to study a riff, the intervals are intact; the time envelope is not. Guitarists sometimes reverse a vocal melody to write a countermelody; same file, different intent. Backwards song generator covers reversing a full mix you already own—it does not compose.
Publishing a reversed vocal
TikTok and Reels: import the WAV; this site does not post. Copyright still applies if the melody is someone else’s song. Reverse audio for TikTok.
Do not expect a “karaoke mode” with minus-one tracks. Bring your own instrumental if you need one, reverse the vocal only, and align in an editor.
Quality: phone M4A is adequate for practice. For a release, record in a DAW, bounce WAV, reverse here or with a reverse plugin. This page will not upsample a thin MP3 into a hi-res vocal.
Related tools on this site
Voice reverser is the same engine aimed at speech. Reverse singing game is how to run a party round. Neither page adds pitch correction, autotune, or a song library.
If a search result promised “sing in reverse online karaoke,” you still only get time reverse. The catalog was never here.
Frequently asked questions
Is this a karaoke website?
No. There is no song catalog, no lyrics, and no backing track. You bring a recording of singing, reverse it, and practice against that WAV.
How do I practice singing backwards?
Record a melody normally, reverse it here, learn to sing the reversed audio, record that attempt, then reverse the attempt to hear it forward.
Can I reverse a full commercial song as a guide track?
Technically you can upload a file you have. Rights still belong to the rightsholders. Use your own vocal or a licensed track.
Does reverse change the key?
Pitch stays the same. Only time direction changes. Intervals remain; phrasing and consonants do not.
How long can I record a take?
Sixty seconds on the microphone button. Longer phrases should be uploaded as MP3, WAV, FLAC, OGG, M4A, or AAC.
Is processing on a server?
No. The vocal stays in the tab until you download the WAV or close the page.
