Reverse speech generator
This is not TTS. Record or upload your own voice, reverse it in the browser, and download a WAV. No generated celebrity or synthetic voices.
Up to 60 seconds
Up to 60 seconds
People search for a “reverse speech generator” expecting a box: type words, hear them backwards, maybe in a famous voice. That is text-to-speech plus a reverse buffer, often plus a clone. This site does none of that.
What you get: you supply a real recording (upload or a 60-second microphone take). The page plays that recording from the last sample to the first and lets you download a WAV. The voice on the WAV is yours (or whoever was on the file you had a right to use). It is not a generated speaker.
If a headline promised “generate reversed AI voice online,” you are still in a time-reverse editor. Leave if you needed TTS.
Why there is no typed-text reverse
TTS would require a speech model, a voice list, and usually a server. This product keeps audio in the tab on purpose. Adding a cloud voice would break that, and it would invite clone abuse. The honest generator here is: generate a reversed file from existing samples.
To reverse a sentence:
- Say it into Record (under 60 seconds) or into Voice Memos and upload (reverse Voice Memo).
- Hear it backwards. That is the “generated” clip.
- Download WAV.
To make reversed speech that becomes a real sentence when reversed, you must perform the reversed phonemes yourself (or design the forward take so the reverse is intelligible). This page will not compute phoneme sequences from a string.
Reverse word generator audio is the word-game version of the same rule: spoken words, not a text palindrome tool.
What you will hear
Time reverse: last phoneme first. Pitch is unchanged. It is not a voice changer (no robot, no gender slider). It is not a voice translator (no language model).
Intelligibility at 1× is low for English. Slow preview helps you study a syllable; that rate is not written into the WAV.
Room echo runs backwards and smears stops. Record dry if the WAV is for a puzzle other people must decode.
Uploads and privacy
MP3, WAV, FLAC, OGG, M4A, AAC. Chat exports and memo files are fine. Local decode: we do not store the speech, do not train a model on it, and do not offer a “share this generated voice” CDN.
Do not upload recordings of people who did not agree to a reversed public post. Reverse is a weak anonymizer. Friends still recognize timbre.
Voice reverser is the same engine with more speech-listening notes. Reverse audio recorder if the source is not speech.
“Generator” claims this page will not make
- Celebrity voices
- ElevenLabs-style TTS
- Automatic palindrome sentences from a prompt
- Batch generation of 100 lines from a spreadsheet
- Video lip-sync
You can still use reversed speech in a video by exporting WAV and replacing the track in an editor. The generator step is only the reverse.
Two passes restore word order with edge fades (unreverse audio). That is restoration of your recording, not an AI reconstruction.
For teachers and puzzle designers
Record the clue forward, reverse here, send students the WAV. They may reverse it again on this site. That is a file-based puzzle, not a generated-voice quiz bank. Keep clips short. The 60-second mic cap matches a classroom clue better than a lecture.
If students lack mics, you upload once, download WAV, distribute the file. They do not need accounts.
Speed preview is for the teacher checking a difficult line, not a printed slow-down unless you re-encode elsewhere.
Backmasking versus a generator
Conspiracy clips that “reveal” a sentence in a commercial song are usually the ear forcing English onto reversed phonemes. This page will reverse the file you upload. It will not highlight alleged words, will not draw a spectrogram with captions, and will not generate a matching forward sentence that “explains” the reverse.
If you want a designed reverse speech (a sentence that is intelligible after reverse), you write the target, learn to perform the reversed phonemes—or you record the target, reverse it, and learn to sing that tape, then reverse the performance. That is labor. A generator prompt cannot skip it here because there is no prompt.
TTS-plus-reverse on other websites produces an obviously synthetic voice, then backwards. That still is not your voice, and it still is not this product.
Comparison table (mental)
| Want | This page |
|---|---|
| Type text → hear reverse | No |
| Clone a speaker → reverse | No |
| Your memo → reverse WAV | Yes |
| Translate then reverse | No |
| Change identity then reverse | Reverse only; changer is a different tool |
Voice changer if identity was the actual goal. Come back here for the reverse step on the dry or processed file—the changer is not bundled.
Mic discipline for “generated” puzzles
Speak slower than conversation if the reverse must be decoded by humans. Leave a little silence at the end; after reverse that silence becomes a handle at the start so Play does not clip the first reversed syllable.
Do not add background music in the same take unless the puzzle includes the music. You cannot mute it later on this page.
Upload beats the mic when the line is already in a DAW at a decent level. The 60-second cap is the hint that this generator is a sketchpad, not a production TTS farm.
Frequently asked questions
Can I type a sentence and hear it reversed?
No. There is no text-to-speech. You must record audio or upload a file that already contains speech.
Do you generate other people’s voices?
No. No voice cloning, no celebrity models, no synthetic speaker list.
What does “generator” mean on this page then?
Searchers use that word for “make a reversed speech file.” The file is made by reversing your recording, not by synthesizing a voice.
Which formats can I upload?
MP3, WAV, FLAC, OGG, M4A, AAC. Mic recording is 60 seconds. Output is WAV.
Will reversed speech become a hidden English sentence?
Only if you designed the forward take that way. Ordinary speech reversed is syllables backwards, not a decoder.
Is this a translator?
No. Reverse does not map one language to another. See reverse voice translator for that distinction.
