Reverse voice changer

This page reverses audio. It does not pitch-shift or morph identity. Upload or record 60s, preview backwards, download a WAV.

or

Up to 60 seconds

Search results for “reverse voice changer” mix two products. A voice changer alters pitch, formants, or both so a speaker sounds like a different person, a robot, or a cartoon. A reverser plays the same person from the last sample to the first. This page is the second product. The editor uses the Web Audio API to reverse an AudioBuffer in your browser. It does not pitch-shift, it does not morph identity, and it does not ship character presets.

If you arrived expecting a helium slider or a “male to female” control, stop here and use software that actually implements those DSP blocks. If you arrived because you want the reversed-speech layer that producers then feed into a changer, you are on the right page.

What this tool does and does not do

Does:

  • Decode MP3, WAV, FLAC, OGG, M4A, or AAC in the tab.
  • Record up to 60 seconds from the microphone after you grant permission.
  • Play the buffer backwards and let you A/B with Normal.
  • Download a reversed WAV.
  • Keep the samples on the device; there is no account and no URL fetch.

Does not:

  • Pitch shift or time-stretch the download.
  • Change formants or “gender.”
  • Run a neural voice conversion model.
  • Translate speech or produce a transcript.
  • Accept a link to a file in the cloud.

Pitch stays where the recording put it. A low voice stays low. A child’s voice stays a child’s voice. Only order changes.

For speech reverse without the changer disambiguation, see voice reverser.

Why people still search “voice changer” for reverse

Three habits collide in that query.

First, consumer apps bundle reverse as one tile next to robot and chipmunk. Users learn the word “changer” for any voice effect.

Second, reversed speech sounds unfamiliar, so people assume identity has changed. It has not. Play the same sentence forward and anyone who knows you will name you.

Third, a common production chain is reverse → changer → reverse again, which creates a swollen, pre-verb vocal that still tracks a melody. The middle step is a real changer or a DAW pitch plugin. The outer steps are time reverse. This site only supplies the outer steps.

How to chain reverse with a changer elsewhere

Typical order A (reversed identity, forward lyrics):

  1. Record or upload here.
  2. Download the reversed WAV.
  3. Open a pitch or morph app you already use (a DAW plugin, a desktop changer, a mobile changer). Apply the identity change there.
  4. Bounce that result.
  5. Upload the bounce here and reverse again so words run forward while the morph stays.

Typical order B (backwards lyrics, unchanged identity):

  1. Reverse here.
  2. Stop. Do not open a changer. Send the WAV.

Typical order C (backwards lyrics and a morph):

  1. Morph in the other app first.
  2. Upload that file here and reverse once.

This page cannot perform step 3 of order A. There is no API call to a changer and no bundled plugin. If a site claims to reverse and morph in one upload, that is a different product with a different privacy model; this one never leaves the browser.

Live recording for the reverse half of a chain is on reverse voice recorder.

Preview speed is not a changer

The speed control is for audition. 0.75x helps you parse reversed syllables. 1.5x lets you scan a long take. The WAV download is always the reversed buffer at the decoded sample rate, not a resampled chipmunk file. Printing a speed change requires an editor after download. That is also not pitch-shifting in the musical sense unless the editor links rate and pitch, which many simple players do.

If you need a filter-style reverse (a send, a band-limited reverse, a wet/dry mix), this editor still only does a full-file reverse. Notes on treating reverse as a filter live on reverse audio filter.

Singing versus spoken changer queries

Singers often want reversed vowels into a chorus, then a tuner or a formant plugin. Reverse the dry vocal here, download WAV, then tune in the DAW. Do not expect this page to hold pitch to a scale. Sung reverse, including game-style challenges, is covered on reverse singing website.

Spoken “changer” queries are usually disguise. Reverse is a poor disguise. It is obvious, it is reversible, and it does not beat a speaker ID model. If the goal is anonymity, reverse is the wrong tool; use a dedicated anonymizer and accept that this site will not provide one.

Practical steps on this page

  1. Upload a clip or record up to 60 seconds.
  2. Confirm you hear the end of the sentence first.
  3. Ignore the absence of pitch knobs; they are omitted on purpose.
  4. Download WAV if you need the file in another changer or a DAW.
  5. Keep the dry original. A morph plus two reverses is hard to undo if you overwrite the source.

Supported containers are the same as the rest of the site: MP3, WAV, FLAC, OGG, M4A, AAC. Output is WAV. Large files can stall on a phone; keep uploads modest.

A reverse speech generator is for making a backwards prompt, not for swapping identity. Word-level games belong there, not here. Unreversing a file you already flipped is a second pass through the same engine, not a “restore voice” morph.

Closing the tab drops the buffer. There is no cloud history of your changer experiments, because there is no changer and no cloud.

Frequently asked questions

Does this voice changer raise or lower pitch?

No. There is no pitch slider, no formant slider, and no character preset. The only effect is time reverse.

Can I sound like someone else after reversing?

No. Reverse does not hide identity. Listeners who know your voice will still recognize it, just in reverse syllable order.

How do people combine reverse with a real voice changer?

Reverse here, download the WAV, then run that WAV through a separate pitch or morph app. Or morph first, then reverse here. This site does not host the morph step.

Is speed change the same as a voice changer?

No. The 0.5x–2x buttons are preview only. They do not print into the download and they do not shift pitch independently of time.

Which files can I upload?

MP3, WAV, FLAC, OGG, M4A, and AAC. Download is WAV. There is no URL paste and no server upload.

Will reversing twice undo a pitch-shifted file?

Reversing twice restores timeline order. It does not restore original pitch if you already changed pitch in another program.
