Audio omkeren

Audio omkeren is how Dutch-language search describes playing sound backwards: omkeren = to turn around / reverse. People also type geluid omkeren, mp3 achterstevoren, and audio omdraaien. This URL catches that cluster and runs the same in-browser reverse as the English pages.

The article is in English because the site UI is English. You do not get a translated mixer. You get a working reverse: time order flipped, WAV download, local processing.

What Dutch searchers usually want

They want a file achterstevoren: last moment first. School jokes, TikTok sounds, checking a rumored backmasked lyric, making a swell from a cymbal. That is time reverse.

They sometimes want fase omdraaien (polarity) because forums mix the words. Polarity does not play the file backwards. If the snare got thin when you layered two mics, this page will not help. If you want to hear a sentence from the last syllable to the first, it will.

Flip audio in English has the same ambiguity with stereo swap. Omkeren is not L/R swap here either. Links stays links.

2. The browser decodes locally (lokaal). No Dutch or other server renders the take.
3. Play: you should hear the end first.
4. Snelheid / speed buttons: preview only, not printed.
5. Download WAV.

MP3 reverser and reverse WAV online are format notes on the same engine. Reverse sound if the file is an effect rather than a song.

iPhone Voice Memos and Android recorders work as uploads after you export. The on-page mic is a one-minute sketch.

Language of the interface

Expect Record, Play, Reverse, Normal, Download—not Opnemen and Downloaden. A Dutch browser still sends those English labels. Locale settings do not switch a hidden NL pack; there is none.

Privacy and apps

Lokaal means the buffer stays in the tab. Closing the tab drops it. There is no account named “omkeren.”

There is no official Chrome extension and no Play Store package from this project for the Dutch query either. Use the website. Store clones that ask for every permission are unrelated.

Rights

Omkeren of a commercial recording does not make it free to post on TikTok or to broadcast. Use files you may process.

Two reverses restore listening order with small edge fades. Keep the original bestand if you need an archive.

A teacher who assigns “keer dit geluid om” can send one WAV. Students open this page, upload, listen, optionally download. They do not create accounts. The 60-second mic is enough for a spoken clue in Dutch or English; the reverse does not care which language was spoken.

Do not require students to reverse a commercial hit. Use the teacher’s own recording. Copyright (auteursrecht) still applies after omkeren.

If the assignment is to restore a reversed file, that is a second reverse, with small fades at the edges. Tell students to keep the file you sent; they should not need a perfect round trip.

After the WAV

WhatsApp and Telegram in NL/BE accept WAV as a document more often than as a voice bubble. If a chat partner cannot play it, encode MP3 on the phone after download. This site will not output MP3.

Desktop DAWs (Audacity is common in schools) can reverse too. Use those for a whole map of files. Use this page when you have one clip and no editor installed.
